CHERYL A. O'CONNOR

Cheryl is the Executive Director of HomeAid’s Northern California chapter.  O’Connor served as CEO of the Building Industry Association of the Bay Area (BIA) during the height of the economic recession from 2009 to 2011, successfully reducing organizational costs and redirecting its focus to political advocacy.

As Regional Chair of the BIA in 2008, O’Connor initiated green building standards, a forerunner to the California green energy code. She held senior level leadership positions in sales and marketing and was recognized as Sales Manager of the Year and Marketing Director of the Year; in her career, she was directly responsible for the opening of more than 50 award winning new home communities.

O’Connor has received the BIA Bay Area Lifetime Legend Award and Chairman’s Award.  She also serves on several Boards including STAND! For Families Free of Violence, HomeAid America and Build it Green and holds a California Real Estate Broker’s License.
