The California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame Scholarship was established in 2012 by 2000 Hall of Fame Honoree, Michael Cortney, and his late wife Julia Cortney, to help students in building programs achieve their higher education goals.

This scholarship is for undergraduate and graduate students attending a college or university and majoring in a building related program. Recipients may attend any California college or university. Selection is based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and demonstrated integrity and character. Financial need is a consideration. A minimum $5,000 of non-renewable scholarship money is paid directly to the recipient's college or university, financial aid student account.

Each year the California Homebuilding Foundation holds an elegant black-tie awards dinner to induct its newest Hall of Famers. Hall of Fame is the Foundation's largest fundraising event of the year. Scholarships are awarded in person at the Hall of Fame. Scholarship winners are guests of the Foundation for the evening. Attendance is mandatory.

This year’s dinner will be held at The Westin Anaheim Resort, Anaheim, on May 23, 2023. For more information on the California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame gala and Hall of Fame scholarship contact tbrunson@mychf.org

2022 Hall of Fame scholarships are closed. 2023 Hall of Fame scholarships open February 2023.
