Colleen Edwards is founder and president of EMC, one of the West’s premier communications agencies and a leader in strategic marketing for homebuilders and land use development companies. Edwards is a Magna cum laude graduate of the School of Journalism, University of California, Berkeley and is a member, Phi Beta Kappa. She was named one of the “Outstanding Young Women of America” by a national consortium of women’s organizations.

For over 25 years, Colleen has been an integral part of the marketing success of several leading homebuilding companies dominating the California new home market:  Ponderosa, Lennar, John Laing, Greystone, The O’Brien Group, Grupe, Taylor Woodrow, Christopherson and many others. Her firm has led the industry in creating innovative web-based and e-marketing programs for its homebuilding clientele.

​Colleen has been an active volunteer with her local homebuilder’s association, HBA of Northern California contributing her time, efforts, and ideas. She is the first woman to serve on their Board of Directors. She has served as Sales and Marketing Council President and is a founding member of the Women’s Council.

Along with her leadership commitment, Colleen has consistently created market strategy and campaign materials on a pro bono basis for HBANC and its councils. Edwards was honored with the 2003 Lifetime Legend Award by the HBANC in recognition of her personal and professional achievements.

In 2005, Colleen was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Pacific Coast Builder Conference, PCBC ® and an active member of its Programs Committee. She is also the author of “From Good Market Research to Great Marketing” (Washington, D.C., Home Builder Press, National Association of Home Builders, 1999).

Colleen is a founding board member for HomeAid Northern California, working with the HomeAid leadership to help strategize and create new marketing materials for the next generation of giving.
