Doug Dahlin is one of California’s premier residential architects. As president of Dahlin Group for nearly 30 years, he has been the major driving force behind the multi-disciplined approach the firm takes toward architecture, designing residences, museums, university facilities, or his special interest, land planning and urban design.
Under Dahlin's guidance, the firm has become one of the largest residential architectural firms in Northern California. His approach to architecture is team-centered and hands-on. He personally is involved with all aspects of the design process. What originally drew him to his profession still inspires him today, as a leader, a teacher, and a craftsman.
Mr. Dahlin is a frequent speaker at PCBC® The Premier Building Show, is an active member of the American Institute of Architects’ Oakland Chapter, and is actively involved in the Urban Land Institute, where he serves on the Small-Scale Development Council (Gold Flight).
Dahlin has been active in the Boy Scouts of America, Mt. Diablo Chapter, and along with his company, is a generous supporter of Kenneth E. Behring’s Wheelchairs Foundation. He also serves on the boards of the acclaimed Blackhawk Museum and of Michael Martin Galleries, a non-profit art gallery that brings art into the classroom.
