C.A. TRIFELETTI

Von-Jac Developments, Inc.

Von-Jac Developments, Inc. was founded by C. A. Trifeletti and Gordon W. Hanson on November 13, 1974. Prior to forming Von-Jac Developments, Inc., Gordon and Triffwere owners and officers of Challenge Developments, Inc. in Redwood City, California.

Challenge Developments was founded in 1947 by Andres F. Oddstad. With his untimely death in 1964, Mr. Trifeletti, Mr. Hanson and Mr. O'Malley, all of whom were former executive officers of the firm, acquired the company from the estate of Mr. Oddstad. Challenge Developments continued its active building program, and the principals were actively involved until their interests were purchased by a subsidiary of the Aluminum Company of America in December 1970.

Trifeletti and Gordon completed 150 subdivisions containing more than 22,000 lots; 20,000 single-family residences, 145 apartment buildings containing more than 5,000 units, 3 shopping centers, and 19 industrial buildings in two industrial parks.

In 1988, Mr. Trifeletti was named Citizen of the Year of Redwood City. Mr. Trifeletti was named Builder of the Year by the Building Industry Association, West Bay Division in 1989, and The Sons of Italy presented him with the Distinguished Italian-American Award in 1989.

Mr. Trifeletti's community activities have included "Kainos," a home where adults live and learn skills for everyday living, founded by Dorothy Philbrick for mentally retarded adults ages 16 to 65.

​Von-Jac is a combination of Gordon and Trifs wives' names - Yvonne Hanson and Jackie Trifeletti. Mr. Trifeletti is survived by his two children, Sheila Adams and Frank Trifeletti.
