DONALD H. STONESON

The Stoneson Development Corporation

Donald H. Stoneson was Vice President of his family's firm, The Stoneson Development Corporation. The family company was founded by Don's father, Ellis, and his uncle, Henry. They have built thousands of homes in San Francisco and the Stonestown Shopping Center, an enclosed mall near San Francisco State University.

Donald Stoneson served as President of the Pacific Coast Builders Conference in 1963 and 1964. As a Life Director, his interest and association with the Pacific Coast Builders Conference continued until his death. Don was also a Past President and Life Director of the Building Industry Association of Northern California, West Bay Division; and was a member of the State Housing and Community Development Commission from 1969 to 1976.

​A graduate of the University of Oregon, Donald received the Pacific Coast Builders Conference Rodney Radom Memorial Award in 1976 for his outstanding contributions to the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and the building industry. In 1971, Donald was named Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Iceland and served in this position until his death in 1988. As Consul General, he assisted dignitaries and other citizens of Iceland during their stay in Northern California, as well as guiding American citizens in their travel and trade plans through Iceland.
