Ian McCarthy is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Beazer Homes USA, a national homebuilder listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: BZH) and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Beazer, ranked nationally as the 6th largest homebuilder, currently builds in more than 40 markets in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, West and Central United States. In California, Beazer Homes has 39 communities from Sacramento to San Diego and was recently listed as the 10th largest builder in the state.

Ian has over 23 years experience with Beazer companies in the UK, Hong Kong, Thailand and since 1991 as President of Beazer Homes, responsible for all us residential homebuilding operations. Ian has served as President, CEO and a Director of Beazer Homes USA, Inc. since its IPO in March 1994.

​Ian studied civil engineering at the City University in London and at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Massachusetts. Graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Ian then qualified as a Chartered Professional Civil Engineer. Ian is the Chairman of Home Aid America's National Advisory Board; a member of the Metro Atlanta Board of directors; a member of the NAHB High Production Home Builders Council; and a member of the Policy Advisory Board at the Joint Centre for Housing Studies at the Kennedy Business School, Harvard University.
