DAWN DAVIDSON

Design Line Interiors, Inc.

After graduating from Woodbury University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design/Architecture, Dawn worked in model home merchandising for two well-respected firms early in her career. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for design, Dawn launched Design Line Interiors, Incorporated in 1985 at the age of 25. The firm quickly became a respected brand known for delivering emotionally charged interiors. Today, Design Line is one of the nation’s most sought-after interior design firms.

Specializing in model homes, hospitality, corporate headquarters, and private residences, Dawn’s ability to translate a creative vision into functional yet inspiring spaces extends throughout the world, with projects in California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, China, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and other locations.

Dawn has established herself as a leader and highly respected figure within the building industry. Her legendary “whole design” approach has propelled many projects to noteworthy success. Her intuitive and knowledgeable understanding of architecture and product design as well as her love of landscape design has been instrumental to many of her clients.

Dawn’s experience in merchandising trends and regional and international demographics has made her a sought-after resource and speaker for industry leaders and events. Her experiences in new construction, renovations, and LEED designated projects have been shared in speaking engagements at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference, Building Industry Associations of San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles and the National Builder’s Show.

Design Line Interiors has been honored with hundreds of local, regional, and national awards for exceptional interior merchandising and has been published regularly in regional and national building and design industry publications. Syndicated interior design publications such as Better Homes and Gardens, Better Homes and Gardens Kid’s Rooms, and California Homes have featured special projects and Dawn’s predictions of coming trends.

A highlight of Dawn’s career was her induction into the San Diego Building Industry Association’s Hall of Fame in 2007, an honor given to only six women over the past 16 years. This distinction came after 23 years of serving the building industry. She has been the chairperson of numerous BIA awards programs, installation ceremonies, annual dinners, and countless industry functions. She was president of the San Diego Sales and Marketing Council and is a life director. She has served on the BIA Cares Board of Directors and has also served on the San Diego Building Industry Board of Directors for nearly ten years.

Dawn is the recipient of the Building Industry Association’s prestigious Building Professional of the Year and Design Professional of the Year awards. She was named one of San Diego Business Journal’s “10 Women to Watch” and was nominated for San Diego Magazine’s “Woman of the Year”. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Building Industry Association and the PCBC Board of Directors.

Dawn is also an avid community volunteer. She has been the chairperson of numerous highly successful charity events for organizations such as Voices for Children, Las Patronas, The Bishops School and Scholarship Foundation, and The Evan’s School. She has also supported many children’s causes such as Child Help, The Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, and YMCA youth programs, raising millions of dollars in corporate and private funding for the causes she adopts.

Combining her passion for interior design and love of architecture, Dawn finds delight in traveling and remodeling older homes with her husband, homebuilder Bill Davidson. Her life is continually engaged and enriched by spending time with the loves of her life, her son, Jonathan, and daughters Jameson and Barret Kearney and Bill’s children Will, Nicole and Chris.
